Did I get what I saw?
The site missyusabags offers truly exceptional bags, and the selection of designs is enormous. The descriptions also sound very high-quality:
„Looking for a tote bag that’s both fun and functional? Our quilted tote bag is thoughtfully designed to make everyday carrying easier-while adding a fun, festive touch to your look.“
And these images are used, for example, to advertise the bags:
The order
The bags from missyusabags make a good impression, so I ordered four. At €19.95 for a large bag and €17.95 for a small one, the price isn’t exactly cheap, but the bags seemed to be something special.
The delivery time is stated as 5-12 days, which seems reasonable… but after four weeks, when the bags still hadn’t arrived, I inquired. Apparently, the shipment had gotten stuck in transit, but they were supposed to be sent immediately.
After three weeks, a package finally arrived — but only with two bags, not the four as I had ordered.
And — surprise, surprise — the bags don’t look quite as great as in the pictures, and the material and workmanship leave much to be desired.
And what is different than expected?
The first thing you notice about the bags delivered by missyusabags is that they aren’t embroidered, as shown in the product images!
The bags are made of a very coarse fabric, and the designs are … simply printed on! Yes, that’s right: the 3D effect with shadows and embroidery is just printed!
This is what I see on the missyusabags website: soft, quilted fabric and embroidered appliqués.
This is what is delivered: a coarse fabric with very simple seams and a printed motif.
Also the second bag is merely printed.
The page missyusabags again features an embroidered bag with a beautiful quilted design.
The delivered bag is simply printed. Even the quilting and the shadows of the seams are printed.
The straps on the missyusabags homepage are made of soft fabric and are beautifully quilted and sewn.
Beautiful, soft, quilted straps are expected.
In reality, however, the straps are made of a rough, rather hard material. That’s not what I had in mind.
The straps on the second bag look even more elegant on the homepage.
But here too, it’s a simple, rough band that doesn’t feel soft in the hand or on the shoulder.
The inside of the bag isn’t really impressive either.
The bag is described as: „Double layers inside and outside, lined, with pockets and zipper at the mouth.“
However, the inner lining is a very thin, inflexible fabric, or rather, a plastic film.
The workmanship leaves much to be desired.
And what does missyusabags say about the quality?
To be honest, the description on the website only mentions quilted bags, not embroidered ones. However, there isn’t even a quilted design visible on the bags delivered themselves.
When contacted (via email), Elena from missyusabags commented on this:
„Our handbags feature a quilted pattern design. While the bag you ordered isn’t actually embroidered, the pattern clarity and color reproduction are still high-standard.“
Basically, she’s explaining that the bags don’t match what’s advertised on the website, but I should be happy with what I got, that’s nice too.
Am I the only one who doesn’t like the quality?
Far from it… there are countless complaints online about missyusabags methods, and everyone feels cheated. Comparing the pictures on the product page with the bags delivered makes this perfectly understandable.
The website „Trustpilot“ for example lists a large number of user reviews:

The company is very active on Facebook and Instagram, selling the bags through impressive images.
However, there are also numerous users who complain about the quality. Negative reviews predominate in the page’s mentions:

But the bags come from the USA!?
Missyusabags appears to be based in the United States (USA), specifically in Syracuse, New York. However, the tracking information shows that the bags are shipped from China:
My conclusion …
First of all, I’m curious to see if the two remaining bags from my order will actually be delivered – I’m very skeptical.
In my opinion, the offers on missyusabags are designed to lure in buyers and motivate them to purchase with attractive pictures. However, the delivered bags fall far short of expectations and certainly don’t resemble the pictures on the missyusabags website.
The bags are completely overpriced. In my opinion, they’re not even worth half of what’s being asked. Similar bags can be ordered from Chinese sellers via the „TEMU“ platform, for example, and these cost an average of $3 – 4 … and that seems to be their actual value.
Looking at the worldwide reviews, the delivery practices are also highly questionable. There are frequent reports of incomplete deliveries and that shipments often only arrive after a complaint.
On the plus side, payment via PayPal is accepted. This allows for some recourse.
Personally, I will no longer buy from missyusabags – at least not at the prices they offer.
